Dental veneers
Dental veneers, which can be made of porcelain, ceramic or resin, act as a thin layer glued or cemented to the front of the teeth, thus correcting defects in shape or color and providing a natural and beautiful appearance. In some cases, they can even replace orthodontic treatments, as long as the problem is only aesthetic.
Today these solutions present a great durability and resistance, given the characteristics of the materials used.
Types of dental veneers
Porcelain/ceramic dental veneers
These dental veneers are produced in a dental prosthesis laboratory using a mold and then bonded to the previously worn natural tooth.
Resin dental veneers
Resin dental veneers can be applied directly on the tooth, in the clinic. Although faster and easier to apply, they are also less durable than porcelain/ceramic dental veneers.
Dental contact lens
While with dental veneers it is possible to correct more notorious defects in the teeth, such as color change, the Dental Contact Lens, being an ultrathin layer, is only used to correct small problems, maintaining a more natural appearance.
In the case of this solution, the natural tooth does not suffer such great wear (or even any wear), which makes it less invasive.
